He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Maria Cristina; his children, Lucia Spera (Emmanuele) and Michael Amato (Bianca); his granddaughters, Celine, Francesca, Stella and Chiara; and his parents, Michele Amato and Lucia Chieco.

He was also a member of the Italian Catholic Federation and past member of the Italian American Heritage Foundation.
