He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Johnston and Anne Johnston (Gillespie); his brothers, Richard and George; and his son Doug.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette (Harper); his children, Carrie (Smith), Jeff (Cris), Michael (Stefanie) and Jeremy (Angela); and his daughter-in-law Christine. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three step-grandsons.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (4848 Pearl Ave, San Jose, CA 95136).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Dan's memory be sent to the Am.
