“This is your cousin Leah (Leah Wallach - Devera Sievers daughter). I just learned of Jonathan's death this morning. I have stayed in touch with a couple of members of the large clan of Chicago Sievers descendants, one of whom just learned that Jonathan had died. Though I hardly knew him he made a vivid impression on me, and I am very sad he has died, by our standards today, so young. I remembered meeting him as teenager; he seemed to me gentle, and genuine, and a little sad and I liked him very much. I think I met him only one other time as an adult; I was pleased he seemed happier in himself and was loved and loving. I am sorry he didn't have more years to enjoy, and you to enjoy his company. Please accept my sympathy. I have been living in London almost 20 years now. Please get in touch if you are passing through. [email protected]”
