He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Medeiros and Rosa Medeiros; his siblings, Maximino, Armindo Medeiros, Ilda Silva, Maria Pimentel, Deolinda Bettencourt and Victoria Laranjo; and his godson Celestiano Bettencourt.
He is survived by: his sister Benilde; and his children, Lino Freitas, Amarantina Medeiros (Jose) and Lina Medeiros Vieira (Manuel). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
