He was predeceased by: his parents, Umesaburo Okabe and Asao Okabe. He is survived by: his wife Shirli Nagatomi; his children, Tish Kato of Torrance and Keith Okabe of San Mateo; his grandsons, Sean and Quinn Kato; and his brother Takashi Okabe of San Jose.
