He is survived by: his wife Linda Bryant Hanger; his son Madison Sloan Trewhitt III (Kristy); his daughter-in-law Leslie Trewhitt; his granddaughters, Sloan Elizabeth Trewhitt, Alexandria Haggerty Trewhitt (Matthew) and Alison Kirby Lee; his great grandchild Amelia Lee; his sister Heidi Hanger Simmonds (Andrew); his niece Amy Simmonds Pridgen (Franklin); his great-nephews, Benedict and Alden; his great-niece Mamie; his niece Hadley Mahan Simmonds (Antonio); his great-nephew Jack; his friend Jim Howard; and his close friends, Allan Jones, George McCoin, Mike Ownbey, Phil Lea, Jerry Ward, Dee Burris, Bill Varnell, Steve Hixson, Randy Parris, Toby Pendergrass, Tom Crye, Eddie Dyer and Ricky Humphries.
