We announce the death of Michael Theron Imlay of San Juan Capistrano, California, who passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 80. Michael will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Jane Imlay and Charles Theron Imlay; and his brother Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Imlay; his daughter Erika Imlay Markel; his grandchildren, Aidan, Ava, Lily and Jack; and his sisters, Patricia Imlay, Peggy Imlay Allen and Kitty Imlay Germer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Mission Basilica Church (31520 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Orange County.
