Jim Goldrup wrote a sympathy message

“Mu brother Tom and I were good friends of Marvin. Tom knew him since 1967 and I met him in 1968. Met him in Marin County and then when Tom and I moved to L.A. in 1969 to pursue acting we kept in touch with him down there. He moved there about a month before we did to pursue a writing career. We were there a couple of years and then in the 1970s we ran into him in San Lorenzo Valley (we were living in Ben Lomond). We kept in touch with him over the years and were very sad to hear of his passing.”
