He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alice Brookshire Royals and Dr. James Lee Royals. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Adams Royals; his son Charles Brookshire Royals, Jr. (Brooks) of San Francisco; his stepson Adam Patterson of Washington, D. C; his brother Jimmy Royals (Marilyn); his nieces, Lee Ann Royals Lutken (Jack) and Katie Royals Howe (Kyle); and his friends, Nancy Woodbury, Charles, Lisa and Brooks. He is also survived by two great- nieces, and 3 great-nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Penninsula Golf and Country Club (701 Madera Dr, San Mateo, CA 94403).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, or Women for Women International.
