She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Dorthey Morrison and Dr. Lewis Francis Morrison; her husband Richard J. Elkus Jr.; her daughter-in-law Patricia Elkus; her granddaughters, Jessica Elkus Tetrick and Kristina Elkus Wages; her close friend Helen; and her stepchildren, Richard M. Elkus, Kevin J. Elkus and Mimi Lee.
As a result of her contributions to the community including a University of California at San Francisco lecture series and professorship in honor of her father, Dr. Lewis Francis Morrison, Helen received personal recognition from President Barack Obama.
