He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Gallentine and Barbara Decareau Gallentine; his sister Lynn Reynolds; and his stepfather Sherman "Ray" Willoughby. He is survived by: his wife Martha Gallentine (Cox); his sons, Chad Gallentine (Jennifer) of Decatur, GA and Todd Gallentine (Mattine) of St. Charles, IL; his stepdaughters, Carol Webster of Beacon, NY and Margaret Roush of Clinton, CT.; his grandchildren, Greer, Maeve (Chad), Sophia, William (Todd), Benjamin, Braden (Carol) and Jaycie (Margaret); and his brother Tom Gallentine of Central City, Neb.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 East Main St, Branford CT, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
