He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramanath Kamath and Uma Bai; and his brothers, Vaman and Vaikunt. He is survived by: his wife Lalitha; his children, Sheela (Daniel), Sudhir and Sampat; and his siblings, Vatsala, Vijaya (Mohan) and Laxman (Mamata).
