James Hugh Franzen Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 7, 2025, at the age of 84, James Hugh Franzen (Santa Barbara, California) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Hugh Franzen to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Joseph Franzen and LaVergne Mary Tennyson Franzen; and his brother Thomas J. Franzen. He is survived by: his wife Maria L. Franzen; his sisters, Mary Lou Howard (late Doug), Catherine Glenn and Anne M. Schindler (Todd); his children, Michael R. Franzen (Melissa) and Charlene S. Hiatt; his stepsons, Frank M. Dominguez, Jr. and Julius A. Dominguez; and his grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Filisha, Alison, Charlie and Parker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Welch-Ryce-Haider (15 E Sola St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church (21 E Sola St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101).
