She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Sorensen and Beverly Sorensen of Albin, WY.. She is survived by: her husband Jim Nelson; her children, Jimmy Nelson (Debbie) of Bakersfield, CA and Erin Pasley (Brian) of Sammamish, WA; her grandchildren, SSgt JC Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Justin Nelson (Lilly), Joey Nelson, Harper Pasley and Zoey Pasley; her great grandchild James E. Nelson; and her siblings, Carolyn Stoner, Helen Baize, Scott Sorensen and Gale Scarff.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Redeemer Bible Church (736 W Islay St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101).
Memorial contributions can be made in Marie's name to Redeemer Bible Church or VNA Health (formerly known as Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care).
