He is survived by: his friends, Franz and Gitte Mazanti; his children, Steve, Gail, Okinawa and Alicia; his wife Gail; his son Brad Evans; his grandchildren, Mikael Rich, Aleya Evans, Kaelyn Evans, Avery, Noelle and Olivia Ynostrosa; his sister Gail Ann Petty; his brother-in-law Edwin "Ed" Carpenter; Beau Rich and Alicia Ynostrosa (Bradley). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
A committal service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 11:50 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations in Steve's memory to Fisher House Inc. of San Antonio or the Alzheimer's Association.
