She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas "Tim" Shafer of Paesano's Restaurant. She is survived by: her daughters, Margie Robbins (Cliff) of San Mateo, Anne Schmitt (Mike) of Santa Ana and Jane Larson (Will) of Centennial; her granddaughters, Caroline Robbins, Kate, Evelyn, Colleen Schmitt, Mary Jane and Sarah Larson; and her siblings, John Stansbury, Ann Valdez, Dorothy Stansbury, Tom Stansbury and Jim Stansbury. She is also survived by many loving in-laws and nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (1441 W Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach, CA 92661). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary's name may be made to your favorite charity, kiss a baby or plant a tree in memory of Mary.
