He was predeceased by: his siblings, Oscar and Silvia. He is survived by: his parents, Elvira Mesinas Lopez and Fidel Ventura Ramirez; his spouse Rosamaria Muñoz Mesinas; his siblings, Jacobo, Juana, Luis, Sama and Beto; his cousins, Roberto and Rafael Mesinas; his brother Marcelo Garcia Alvarado; and his siblings' children, Kristin and Alexander.
He survived COVID-19, and after a trip to Mexico, bravely endured a MRSA infection that required numerous surgeries and skin grafts to preserve the use of his arm.
