It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frank John Zalba of Shafter, California, who passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 52, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro M. Zalba (Azparren) and Ascension Zalba. He is survived by: his siblings, Pedro M. Jr. of John's Catholic Church and Mariana; his brother-in-law Scott; his nephews, Xabi and Matthew; his sister Julie; his brother-in-law Tom; and his nieces, Alyssa and Natalia. He is also survived by many extended family members and close friends.
A rosary will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (1300 9th Pl, Wasco, CA 93280). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wasco Cemetery (300 Leonard Ave, Wasco, CA 93280).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Frank's honor to Hoffman Hospice in Bakersfield, continuing his legacy of compassion and care.
