He was predeceased by : his parents, Marjorie Ellen Palmer and Charles William Palmer; his stepfather Clyde Chaney; and his children, George Thomas Palmer, Jr. and Terry Eugene Palmer.

He is survived by : his wife Patsy Palmer; his children, Timothy Palmer and Tonia Zeiter; his son-in-law Todd Zeiter; his grandchildren, Mikaela, Nicholas Zeiter and Santina Palmer; and his siblings, Ralph Chaney (Doug) and Cathy Keck.
