He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Mitchell (Funk) and James Ingram Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Wendy; his children, Meredith Emma Mitchell Zimmerman (Mike) and James C. Mitchell Jr.; and his sisters, Pam Miller (Marvin), Sheila Violand (George) and Sandy Bobal (Nehl).
