He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cato and Idell Cato; and his brother John Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Lavinia; his siblings, Jo Ann, Jeanette, Beverly, Barbara, Idell, Doris, Juliet and Jerome; and his extended family Phi Beta Sigma Brothers. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins.
