She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Muller and Laura Muller; her former husband Donald Giudice; and her siblings, Helen Wigginton, William Muller and Florence Walker.

She is survived by: her husband John Gates; her daughters, Deborah Ferrari (James) and Pamela Pier (Delbert); and her grandchildren, Joseph Ferrari, Nicholas Ferrari, Susanne Andresen and Eric Andresen.
