Glenda Thayer Obituary

Glenda Arlene Thayer, 75, passed away on May 15, 2022 after a long illness. She was born in Oakdale on March 16, 1947 to Richard and Katharina Wendland. Glenda attended Stagg High and graduated from Schneider Vocational High. In April of 1965 she married her high school sweetheart Gene Thayer, and enjoyed 57 years if marriage. Glenda loved cooking, camping in the Sierra and at the ocean with her family, and was proud of becoming a certified scuba diver earlier in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Glenn Wendland, brother Richard, sisters Elaine Downs, Joyce Williams, and Coleen Aker. She is survived by her husband Gene, daughters Kimberley Thayer (Erik Olhoffer) of Auburn, Karin Thayer of Pioneer, three grandchildren: Mikayla, Vohn, Jessica Hosey, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private celebration of her life.
