Melvin Gene Fong Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on October 29, 2025, at the age of 74, Melvin Gene Fong of Stockton, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Melvin farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Melvin is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Fong and Nadine Fong (Thomas). He is survived by: his wife Mava Fong; his stepchildren, Michael Broyles (Virginia) and Dianne Goans of Lodi, CA; and his siblings, Michael Fong of Florida and Janice Fong of Montana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made, in his name, to the Hospice of San Joaquin or to the Sacramento Zoo.
