With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maureen Ann Johnston of Tehachapi, California, born in Cumberland, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 22, 2025 at the age of 78. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Paul Baker and Vera Beven Baker; her former husband Larry Libbee; her daughter Sandra Dressel; and her siblings, Terry Baker and Eileen Baker-Ungerer.
She is survived by: her husband Curtis Johnston; her children, Jennifer Vasquez (Joel) and Curtis Johnston (Jodi); her grandchildren, Ashleigh Robinson (Clint), Kristen Ledesma (Nic), Cody Cornell (Madison), Megan Cornell and Cassidy Cornell; her great grandchildren, Remi, Ralli, Ronni, Ruby Ledesma, Chloe, Carly and Landon Robinson; and her siblings, David Baker (Linda), Leslie Cochran (Jim), Lorraine Barrette (Art), Robin Baker, Barbara Richardson (Ken), Margie Sanford (Bruce) and Richard Baker.
In memory of Maureen, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the mission at Kern County, or to an organization of choice, or simply show a gesture of kindness with someone in need.
