He was predeceased by : his sister Diane Durant. He is survived by : his wife Joyce; his children, Garrett Jr. (Lisa) and Danielle; his grandchildren, Noah, Frances and Dominic; and his brother Thomas R. DeYulia (Bettie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
