He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Cortez and Clemente Cortez; his sister Leticia Joseph; and his nephew Ruben Contreras. He is survived by: his siblings, Jose Cortez (Tina), Norma Contreras (Paul), Lupe Cortez, Susanna Hernandez (Tony), Miguel Apodoca (Lupe) and Elva Apodoca; his nephews, Nathaniel and Logan; and his niece Isabella. He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews.
