It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gene Frederick Koester in Torrance, California, born in Concordia, Kansas, who passed away on November 12, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Koester and Ruby Koester; and his brother Loren. He is survived by : his sister Carol Stewart (Rolland); his sister-in-law Norine Koester; his wife Patty Hayward Thompson; his stepsons, Steve Thompson (Alexis) and Scott Thompson (Claudia); his grandchildren, Riley Thompson (Annie), Dylan Thompson and Isabella Thompson of Cal State, LA; and his great grandchildren, Quincy and Fiona Thompson.
