He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Rasmusson; his siblings, Bob and Marilyn; and his son-in-law Douglas Steele. He is survived by: his children, Mike Rasmusson and Cindy Steele; and his grandchildren, Krista Chiappe (Steve), Melissa Steele and Matthew Rasmusson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Association.
