He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Jerner and Judith Jerner; his brothers, Oscar and Jim Jerner; and his nephew Keith Jerner.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Strom; his daughters, Sheri Spycher (Eric) and Julie Vieira (Jim); his sisters-in-law, Marlene Jerner and Elaine Gayle; and his grandchildren, Bryce Spycher (Deb), Lyndzie Blum (Jeff), Kaisa Hudelson (Evan), Victoria Paris (Cory), Brock Vieira (Kaitlynn) and Paige Vieira. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
