He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Kenneth Cox Sr. and Ona Mae Smith; and his sister Dorsena Tipton. He is survived by : his siblings, Regina Alsip, Randy Shelton and Carolyn Boston; his children, Tracey Aue, Ashley Cox, Melissa Cox, Martha Cox, Russell Cox III (Bud), Carlotta Welch and Kris Tipton; his grandchildren, Summer Hudson, Dominic Zaragoza, Anthony Hudson, Kaylee Jackson, Jacob Swick, Blake Graves, Aubrey Zaragoza, Carson Aue, Riley Beardsworth, Ava Aue, Oliver Beardsworth, Zariyah Welch and Tabetha Tipton; his nephew Michael Tipton; and also Amber Tipton.

Viewing was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary (247 N Broadway, Turlock, CA 95380). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
