It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gertrude “Trudy” Wischer (Fairfield, California), born in Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on February 22, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. A devout Catholic, fierce matriarch, with an endless supply of joy and love for all those fortunate to find themselves in her universe. Giver of hugs, kisses and the occasional eye-roll, she will be remembered fondly as an independent woman with a huge heart who lived to care for others and was happiest surrounded by her loved ones laughing, praying, living and loving at full speed ahead.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Leo Burke and Mary Spearman Burke; her husband Robert Wischer; her daughter Laura Marie Wischer; and her siblings, William "Bill", Leo Burke, Elizabeth "Betty" Walters, Virginia Mary Breakfield and Patricia Fiori. She is survived by : her brother Patrick Burke of Stockton, CA; her daughter Jennifer; her son-in-law Erik; and her granddaughter Christine Hope. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
