Cyndee Vanrooy wrote a sympathy message

“I just this minute found John's business card and was looking him up. To see that he had passed away was a shock. I am so very sorry for your loss. John was a very talented guy and extremely friendly and kind. When John still had his work shop in Victorville, my husband and I visited him there a few times. Also, we would see him in Palm Springs in April each year. We have quite a few lovely pieces that he created and have given some for gifts. Gorgeous work! We will miss him. C.vanRooy”
