He was predeceased by: his parents, Velon Smith and Gordon Smith; and his brother Ronald Smith. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Griewe; his daughters, Sarah Beutler and Jennifer McCown; and his grandchildren, Kylia Mendes, Kyra Beutler, Landon Mendes and Grayson Beutler.
