Glenda Lea Hoppert Obituary
Glenda Lea (Isenhower) Hoppert (78) of Visalia , CA peacefully exhaled her final breath on earth and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 25, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.
Glenda was born on July 9, 1942 in Tulare, CA to Owen and Flora (Dow) Isenhower of Corcoran, CA. She graduated from Corcoran High School in 1961. Glenda met the love of her life, Harold on September 17, 1956 and although he was only 12 years old, he announced to her that day that he was going to marry her . He fulfilled that promise on June 15, 1963, and their love and commitment to each other never wavered. It was the most beautiful of love stories, and they built their family by raising two daughters, Carol, and Deanna.
Throughout her life, Glenda held many different jobs in many different fields. From newspaper columnist, to middle school Special Education Aide, to Legal Secretary, and more. She explored and excelled in every endeavor. In addition, she taught Sunday School and used her beautiful soprano voice to praise and worship in the church choir.
With an infectious smile, charm, and unending positive attitude, Glenda quickly found her way into the hearts of everyone she met. She filled the world around her with love, laughter, grace, and warmth that changed the lives of so many. Her family was her pride and joy, and she delighted in her grandchildren. Her deep strength and faith in God became even more evident when she received a heart transplant in 1996, and she never faltered in giving Him the credit for any good she accomplished in this life. When Harold was diagnosed with Dementia, she leaned even deeper into her faith. She continually did everything possible to ensure his health and well-being. Her testimony, and the life of faith she lived with Harold and her family, was an ongoing inspiration to others.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Flora (Dow) Isenhower and her sister, Joan (Mel) Waters. She is survived by her husband Harold Hoppert; her daughters Carol (Mark) Hays and Deanna (Michael) O'Leary, her son Eric Wise, grandchildren Vanessa (James) Rudd and Wes (Hannah) Lane, great-grandchildren Mason Rudd and Claire Rudd, as well as a large extended family, three generations of nieces, nephews, and innumerable friends.
We will celebrate Glenda's life on July 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Fountain Christian Church,
