He is survived by: his wife Betty Hunter; his daughter Janet Herring; his stepchildren, Gary and Trudy Brown; his grandchildren, John Acevedo, Jonathan Herring and Jamie Fleming; his sister Della Ruell; Jack Herring, Gary and Trudy Brown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
