He was predeceased by: his wife Nora Papion; his parents, Nieves Sr. Papillion and Manuela Papillion; his children, Nieves S Papion and Dee Anna Papion; his grandsons, Andre Maestas and Aaron; and his siblings, Cecelia Ruiz and Jimmy Ruiz.

He is survived by: his children, Naomi Cline, Elena Maestas and Catarino Papion (Delia); his grandchildren, Nieves J Papion Tim Papion (Mary Lov), Anthony Papion (Rachel), Lavonne Guerrero (Felipe), Marisa, Justin Maestas, Marcus Maestas (Estecia), Zacharia Maestas (Stacy), Jordan Papion (Korina), Chelsea Marshall (Andy), Joshua and Jazmin Papion; his siblings, Sammy Papion, Ruben Papion (Shane), Joe Ruiz, Leonard Delarosa, Adela Mendez (Bernardino), Alice Garcia, Lovisa Hernandez (Joe), Nancy Barker (Rick), Melda Cervantez (Joe), Diana Ruiz and Maria Elena Dela Rosa; and his close friend Lourdes Fejeron.
