She was predeceased by : her parents, Col William H. Donaldson and Verna Donaldson. She is survived by : her sister Verna; her husband Gilbert Friedman (Gil); her children, Bruce, Michael and Bonnie; and her grandchildren, Jack, Charlie, Steven and Sara Friedman.

In late 2020, due to worries about the pandemic, her children, not so subtly, moved her to California, where she lived with her doting son, Michael, in Walnut Creek.
