She was predeceased by: her parents, Joao Avelar and Maria Goncalves; her husband Fernando Pereira; and her siblings, Victoria Silveira, Ana Cunha, Maria Nunes, Gertrudes Avelar, Miguel Avelar, Antonio Avelar, Jose Avelar, Domingos Avelar, Joao Avelar, Antonino Avelar and Manuel Avelar.
She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Fatima Cunha (Tony) and Mary Carvalho (Manuel); her grandchildren, Dina Cunha, Ashley Carvalho, Jeanine Carvalho Murphy and Emanuel Carvalho; her great grandchildren, Josie, Jenna, Jacy Murphy, Kaylie, Jayden Carvalho, Joshua, Stephanie and Tristan Lee; and her sisters-in-law, Angelica Avelar and Leonor Avelar. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
From her contributions to many fundraising events, (she was known for donating over 50 hand-made quilts), fundraisers for the Salesian Sister Schools, St. Francis School, I.S.T.W of Watsonville, and the Holy Ghost Celebrations; Rosa was considered to be a generous person who always put others first.
