He was predeceased by: his parents, F. J. Hamby and Mary Hamby; and his wife Fannie. He is survived by: his children, Mark Hamby (Trina) of Brawley, Sharlet Compton (Earl) of Madera and Steve Hamby (Lori); his grandchildren, JB, Loren, Caleb, Josh, Haley, Nate and Tyler; and his brothers, Joel Hamby and Paul Hamby. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Frye Chapel (799 S Brawley Ave, Brawley, CA 92227). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at the Riverview Cemetery (4700 Hovley Rd, Brawley, CA 92227).
His touchstone was 1 Corinthians 13, and charity was, for him, the first duty of a Christian after Christ himself.
