He is survived by : his wife Maria Teresa Velazquez-Ortega; and his children, Christopher E. Ortega, Isaac Ortega, Jose Ortega Velazquez and Perla Ortega Velazquez.

Viewing was held on Thursday, May 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Calendar Chapel of Memories Funeral Home (12626 Woods Ave, Norwalk, CA 90650). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 31st 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
