He is survived by: his grandson Tommy Schmidt; his wife Frances Schmidt; and his children, Tom Schmidt (Carol), Jon Schmidt (Debbie) and Cathy White (John). He is also survived by three grandchildren and several step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren.
