He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Simms Duncan and Edna Leona Duncan (Horn); his brothers, Robert Duncan (Sandra) and Bill Duncan; and his granddaughter Tasmin Duncan.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Duncan (Grooms); his children, Christie of Ganahl and David Duncan (Cheryl); his sister Peggy Pappas (John); his grandchildren, Brian (Carmita) of Ganahl and Carrie Loewenstein (Craig); and his great grandchildren, Athena Shiew (Ben), Chas (Annie) of Ganahl, Reagan of Ganahl, Caden, Cavan, Charles and Chloe Loewenstein. He is also survived by 6 great-great grandchildren.
