We announce the death of Louis Paul Chavez (Alamosa, Colorado), who passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 47. Louis will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmen Padilla and Fidel Chavez; and his grandparents, Eleanore and Louis Padilla. He is survived by: his son Oliver Chavez; his siblings, Amy Duran (Jarrod), Mikell Smith (Jeremy), Sherrie Smith and Erik Cebada; his half-sisters, Miranda and Vinni; his grandmother Linda Smith; his nieces and nephews, Gabby, Hannah, Ashtynn, Teyah, Nathan, Zachery, Jesse and Jolene; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gracyn, Willow, Sage and Nash. He is also survived by many extended family members, lifelong friends, coworkers.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Memories (829 S Hancock Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Luchas Cantina and Speakeasy (531 Edison Ave, Alamosa, CO 81101).
