It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herman Franklin Wehling (Arvada, Colorado), born in Broken Bow, Nebraska, who passed away on January 10, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Wehling and Mary Wehling; his wife Nina Grace Stanford of San Antonio; his children, Wayne F Wehling (Donna), Madison and Chloe of Silver Spring, MD.; his sister Mary Frances Perry of Denver; and his sister-in-law Joanne Wehling of Sister Bay, WI. He was also cherished by 2 nieces, 2 nephews.

“I was Herman and Nina's next door neighbor for a short few years. My then wife and myself went about the business of fixing up a fixer-upper. It was quite the undertaking but Herman was always around to lend advice and a hand when he could. He would share veggies from his beautiful garden with us too. After the house was done, we moved to Ohio where I went to med school. I think back fondly at my previous life on Gladiola St complete with great neighbors like Herman and Nina. God Bless.”

“I sure enjoyed your father over the years. He was so proud of you. When I met him, he wanted to show my 4 small children his bees. It ended up being an afternoon of storytelling and a bag of Swiss chard. Every time I saw him in church, he would tell me to stop by and pick up some veggies. Always with stories about your accomplishments. I was so pleased to see you sitting with his at Christmas Mass. Your father was a very kind man. I was very sad to see he passed while I was out of town. RIP”
