He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Rotar and Mary Helen Mevzek Rotar; and his siblings, Peter and Apollonia Rotella. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Elizabeth Redfern; his sons, Michael (Holly) of Bozeman, Montana, Mark (Andrea) of Ione, California and Daniel (Jennifer) of Berthoud, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Rachel, Christa (Mark), Tyler, Sara (Dan) and Harrison (Mike).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to Catholic Charities of Denver.
