He was predeceased by: his parents, Eiven Evensen and Anna Evensen; his brother Eiven Eversen Jr.; and his daughter Valerie Van Zyl. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Evensen (Hardy); his sisters, Helene Price and Margrethe Paige; his son Doug Van Zyl; and his grandchildren, Travis Van Zyl, Lukas Van Zyl (Meghan), Devon Van Zyl (Natalie), Weston Turnpaugh (Jess) and Tara Schmidt (Christopher). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
