He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schroeder and Lena Schroeder (Goetz); his son Adam; his siblings, Marcella and John; and his siblings-in-law, Gene Madden, Diane Schroeder and Feli Schroeder.
He is survived by: his sons, Scott (April) and Dennis (Michelle); his wife Merrilyn Carley; his daughters, Valerie Petersen (Brian) and Dalyn East (Rocky); his grandchildren, Matthew Petersen, Melanie Petersen, Dacia Schroeder, Nicholas Schroeder, Alysa Englehart, Tifanie Maier, Jacob Thompson, Adaimia Schroeder, Jonnie Schroeder, Olliver Schroeder, Ethan East, Braxton East, Haley East and Braelyn East; his great grandchildren, Maerolyn Schroeder, Kaiden Englehart, Ryleigh Englehart, Samuel Maier and Lucas Parker; his siblings, Douglas (Loretta), Marvin (Leola), Janette Oldfield, Joyce Craven (Larry), Elaine Dubej (Don), Kenneth, Cynthia Voss (Ron) and Alan; and his brother-in-law Philip Carley (Karen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial has been established at Story Book Island in Rapid City.
