He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Downes; his son William Wright; his grandchildren, James Dallas Wright, James Cameron Wright, James Alvin Wright Jr., Aaliyah Wright and Amaya Goff; and his siblings, Mary Jo Jefferson of Houston, Texas, Dr. Rose Marie Wright of Schenectady, Lula Pearl Whatley of Fort Worth, Texas, Melvin Brown and Charles Brown of Temple, Texas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the East Alameda Church of Christ (13605 E Alameda Ave, Aurora, CO 80012).
