He was predeceased by: his parents, Flavia Obago (Thick Hair) and Francis Obago; his son Lester "Cheeks" Obago, Jr.; his stepson Douglas Grey Owl; and his siblings, Ethelreda Bad Moccasin, Barbara Ross, Agatha Obago, Viola Obago, Anita Koster, Lorenzo Obago, Loren Zephier and Clark Zephier.
He is survived by: his daughter Lois Roberta; his brother David Obago (Susanne); his children, Christine Obago and Glen Shields; his stepsons, Pat, Raymond Grey Owl and Hun'ka; his children, Delcie Miller, Millie Bridwell, Lana Spence, Hun'ka, Gerald, Darrell Zephier, Joe, Justin and Jason Shields; and his grandchildren, Raymond, Ryanna, Brian, Cassie, Shawnna, Glenn, BobbyJ, Les and Calvin. He is also survived by many great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, friends.
